About Play Place for Autistic Children:

Play-Place for Autistic Children, a 501(c)3 organization, is dedicated to providing a fun-filled, judgment-free, haven of hope for children and families affected by autism. In essence, we’ll be offering a Disneyland effect using purpose-driven “play” that improves, empowers and provides promise for a better tomorrow, including a WorkPlus program to combat the 94% unemployment rate, life skills curriculums, parent resource management forums, and after-school activities.

Play-Place represents a revolutionary compliment to the autism equation of intervention and awareness. While autism’s primary focus of intervention is clinical, research and bio-medical based – no one addresses the everyday nuances of “living with autism.” Outside of the never-ending therapy sessions, doctor visits, bood draws relative to bio-medical treatment and the everyday classroom regimen of school, where can these autism affected children and families go without being judged, stared at, mocked, bullied or made to feel uncomfortable? Where can the entire family go to experience some form of normalcy, inclusion & socialization? Play-Place for Autistic Children embraces the elements of play, family, and recovery while the majority of autism supports are very rigid, inflexibly structured and deals solely with the affected individual. Our bottom line is socialization and life skills development, independence and a better quality of life.
