Theatrical Release, Starring a Young Talent with a Disability and Directed by a Sibling |
In August, with the support of The Arc and The Arc of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, the theatrical release of Menschen was held at the Landmark Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles. In the last days of World War II, an Austrian captain takes under his wing a boy with a developmental disability bringing the loyalty of his men to the test as a secret from his past comes to light. The Arc is proud to partner with Menschen director Sarah R. Lotfi and producer Anastasia M. Cummings in bringing this often untold story to the public. Connor Long, the actor who portrays the young man in the film, is an actor with Down syndrome. For his performance, Connor learned German and did extensive historical research for his role. Lofti is a sibling of a brother and sister with Down syndrome, whose connection to the issues made directing this film very personal.Watch the trailer and stay tuned to The Arc’s blog as this film gains traction! |
